Master tells about itself ...
Leonid Dreizer was born at 1953 year in the city of Dnepropetrovsk (Ukraine). My father's, grandfather' and great-grandfather's profession was wood processors (wood handlers). Maybe, from this reason from early childhood, my father start to teach me own basic and lovely profession. I studied on same machine tool that work my father and this machine tool was trophy, german,from Second World War and was produced in 1937 year. I have been shocked, having learned that in this machine tool had bearing cartridges from a tree (oak), the bed too was wooden. (This machine tool has worked many years, but unfortunately was not kept) Not always I like lessons at the machine tool instead of playing and walking with coevals on the streets. But it was necessary to stand and look contrary to the children's desires hours at work of father. When I was 9 years old, father with me has restored wooden furnish of automobile "Opel-admiral" which stood in our court yard. With time going and age came fascination. On my eyes and with my diligence, the ordinary-looking piece of a wood turned to a finished product. I liked a smell of wood, its beauty, and there was a pride that I something could with. When I once again declared that already can make all, father, on my eyes produce glass with thin med side and than crushed it with his two fingers on fine slices and asked me: «Can you produce glass with same thin sides ?» At that moment I understood, that I still need to stand long at the machine tool and study more.
I constantly hade making items from the various breeds of tree that grow in our district. I cut off not big branches and started up them in work, each time hoping that crude (raw) wood will not lead and will not burst, but each time wood bursted - differently could not be! I have been devastated and upset when made beautiful (in my opinion) a candlestick, but the nature is relentless and it has cracked. Father explained me that necessary to dry up wood before use, but wait for me would not be desirable. This desire remained for many years. I have invented and have tested set of ways of drying wood, but each of them had own lacks. Eventually I have invented completely original way of drying, with a minimum of lacks. This special way of drying I use and to this day, each time opening new details and directions. Solvency of this way is proved to longevity of my products, hand-made items made by me 20, 30 and more years ago, till now decorate my house in a primeval kind.
With years, in course of time come skill,but though not me to judge my skill level. I love my business and I want, that my attitude to this fine, warm material filled with positive energy I can give to people. That my work and my diligence have brought satisfaction to many people.
I have spent big interval of time from my life at the machine tool, and always with a heat and gratitude I shall recollect the father who has learned me to understand indefinitely fine world of a wood, it's beauty and originality.
Description ofour manufacture
Our manufacture located in Ukraine, in the city of Dnepropetrovsk. All products are made only manually, with this way of producing we reaches individuality of each product. Materials for products are various breeds of wood - an oak, a nut, wood of fruit trees and many others. Wood for manufacturing prepared and selected across all Ukraine personally by the master. All source wood is dried with own unique technology of drying, which has been invented by Leonid Dreizer. This technology allows to lower moisture content up to 1 % in wood and with this practically excludes products time deformation and bursting products from such wood. Final products have multilayered varnish covering (sometimes up to 30 layers) with manual polishing each layer.
